ABOUT

Kwasi – About
Kwasi, born Benjamin Karikari-Yeboah, is a Ghanaian-Australian artist whose music shows no bounds. Driven by creativity and a true expression of storytelling, Kwasi uses his artistry for creative alchemy, repurposing raw emotion to bring his art to life. Kwasi’s music is a unique and raw matrimony of punk-rock energy and alternative hip hop. Paying homage to his teenage years of skateboarding and thrashing the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Blink 182 and Bloc Party, his style brings nostalgia to the forefront leaving no page unturned. A musician by nature, Kwasi takes influence from Kanye West and Kid Cudi, where his lyrics and production reflect his admiration for rap and hip hop.
Expect the unexpected, Kwasi has mastered his unique sound through collaborations with various artists, such as Congrats (Ben Stewart of Slowly Slowly) with 2023 release ‘Self Sabotage’ produced by Hamley, which draws upon raw emotions, encapsulating Kwasi’s thrash aesthetic. His song ‘Aura Glow’ which features Allday and Gracelands released in 2018, really pushed the boundaries as an artist landing him streaming accolades across Spotify and Apple Music. It wasn’t until later that year when he released his EP ‘ANX’ with help from long-time collaborator Hugh Lake, that he came into his own using the EP to express himself unapologetically. Dedicated to telling life’s truths, it’s his creativity and expression that empowers his listeners to embody their true selves and connect on a multidimensional level. Kwasi is raw, authentic and imaginative and is here to challenge the way we see music, ourselves and the world around us.
